Most Common Issues Related to Having Trouble Logging into Glencoco
The below are the most common issues related to login issues and how to resolve them. This only applies for login issues unrelated to Stripe or Slack.
Common Issue #1: Legacy users who signed up before September 2024 needing to go through https://glencoco.com/openings or https://glencoco.com/openings/application and submit their resume, linkedin profile, and a voice recording.
Context: legacy users who are having trouble logging in - for example, they try to login but keep getting redirected to the glencoco.com/openings page - will need to as a one-time go to https://glencoco.com/openings or https://glencoco.com/openings/application and submit their resume, linkedin profile, and a voice recording. Once they've done that, if they're not waitlisted, they should be able to login fine. If they have done this already, then tell them they should be more specific about what they're seeing when they can't login (screenshots or recorded screenshare videos are helpful). This applies regardless of if a user already signed a 1099 contract or not previously - if they signed up ever before September 2024, they'll need to double check that they went through this one-time flow.
Common Issue #2: I've already submitted my application through glencoco.com/openings but I still can't login.
Solution: Usually, what helps is force logging out from your browser (by either clearing your browser cache or going to https://user.glencoco.com/logout) and then logging back in.
Common Issue #3: I've tried to request a password reset but I'm not getting an email
Context: Users have two ways of logging into their Glencoco account if they've previously created an account:
Most of the time, if there are issues with password reset attempts not resulting in an email being sent, it's because the user at some point used the "Continue with Google" option, which has its benefits of being a one-click login flow. In this case, resetting the password option won't work - they'll need to use the "Continue with Google" login flow to log in.
Otherwise, if the user never used the "Continue with Google" option and always used Email + Password to login, 99% of the time, the issue is because their password reset email is landing in spam. In this case, the user should search their spam folder, find the password reset email, make sure to mark it as "not spam" so important emails don't get lost in spam in the future, and proceed to reset their password.
Common Issue #3: I try to login and it will redirect me to the apply page / I have an existing account but when I click login it takes me back to the signup page and I'm not able to log into the marketplace.
